Description
The Psychology@Pepperdine MAP and MACLP online programs prepare students for careers in marriage and family therapy, counseling, and allied fields; and further advanced graduate study (e.g., doctoral programs in psychology). These aims are consistent with the mission of Pepperdine University to prepare students for lives of service, purpose, and leadership. The primary responsibility of the Visiting Clinical Professor position is to teach courses in the online Psychology (primarily MAP and MACLP) programs.
DUTIES:
- 80% time spent teaching in the online psychology programs. This would primarily be in the online MACLP and MAP programs. A qualified applicant may also be able to teach a limited number of courses in the Online MS in Applied Behavior Analysis (MSABA) program.
- 20% time spent attending faculty and divisional meetings; serving on division, school, and/or university committees; participation in other division, school, and/or university events.
- Regular communication with course leads of classes taught to ensure up-to-date and timely implementation of course-related content, assignments, and policies.
- Participation in service and leadership activities at the department and university levels (e.g., school, division, University standing and ad-hoc committees).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Uphold the University mission through work performed.

Qualifications
Required: Doctorate degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field; licensure as a psychologist or MFT/LPCC in California; residing in the southern California area; demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, and service; attention and commitment to diversity; excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; exceptional attention to detail, strong organization and time management skills, and the ability to perform routine and non-routine work with changing priorities; sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities, both as an independent entity and as part of a team; proficiency with video conferencing technology.
Preferred: At least 2 years previous experience in delivering online education at the graduate level in psychology; record of service and leadership to community and/or professional organizations; familiarity with California BBS guidelines and regulations as they pertain to graduate training. Experience teaching courses in/similar to those from the Pepperdine MACLP curriculum is desirable.
Salary: $72,000-$75,000
