The Role

This position joins the Delivery and Nucleic Acid Analytical Research group within Delivery Science and is responsible for execution and optimization of a range of analytical techniques and methods to ensure robust and thorough characterization of our lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) and nucleic acids.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with a variety of instruments and lab techniques, following established procedures, continuously identifying and driving improvements, and takes pride in delivering a quality product with clear documentation.
Here’s What You’ll Do
Plan and execute experiments utilizing a suite of analytical techniques for the characterization of nucleic acids and LNPs in an accurate, consistent, and timely manner
Conduct stability studies to evaluate drug substance and drug product shelf life
Execute analytical techniques including HPLC, FACE, DSC, ITC, SAXS, and general characterization methods
Utilize automated laboratory robotics to enable high-throughput workflows
Process, input, and maintain large volumes of analytical and sample data
Maintain and troubleshoot lab instrumentation
Identify and propose solutions to opportunities for improvement in business processes and technical workflows
Maintain good documentation including electronic lab notebooks and technical reports
Contribute to knowledge management efforts through generation and review of operating protocols and templates
Communicate and collaborate with researchers and scientists across disciplines
Manage materials and consumables for lab-based projects
Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time
Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)
BS or MS in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, biology or related field
3+ years of hands-on experience in a laboratory environment
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
MS in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, biology or related field
2+ years of biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience
Experience working with drug delivery, nanoparticle formulations, and or nucleic acids is a plus
Knowledge or experience working with automated and robotic systems is a plus
Programming experience is a plus

Effective communication, both written and verbal
