Our Director, Talent Acquisition will be a leader of leaders that align to our 6 strategic business units, central functions and other core areas of our business and indirectly responsible for a team of over 100 recruiters who fill over ~10k jobs each year! In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that enhance our talent acquisition priorities, enabling your team to meet and exceed business goals. You will work directly with executives across the business to ensure we are meeting business demands and expectations. With no two days being the same and everyone needing to hire someone yesterday, this role demands you be target-driven and excels under pressure. Working in this role, you’ll be highly empowered to lead your team and drive creative recruiting strategies across the organization.
Oh, and the best part….This position can be worked remote from any location in the U.S with only around 20% travel.
Primary Responsibilities:
Supporting the business:
You will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives.
You will understand industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in talent acquisition; introducing and implementing innovative recruitment practices, ensuring a competitive edge in attracting and retaining top talent.
You will use data to understand key trends in order to establish and execute program and process improvements that drive operational excellence.
You will also regularly report on recruitment metrics and provide insights to drive data-driven decision-making.
You will be partnering with team members and Talent Acquisition peers to deliver a superior candidate and manager experience.
You will collaborate with HR, business leaders, and department heads to build and maintain a deep understanding of our talent needs. This understanding will enable you to deliver the right talent at the right time and at the right price to the customer. It will also enable you to partner with the business to effectively forecast future hiring demand.
Because a majority of our TA headcount reports up through this role, you will be responsible for monitoring requisition volumes and ensuring the team is appropriately level loaded.
Leading your team:
You will provide strategic leadership and direction to the talent acquisition team, setting clear goals and expectations.
You will need to assess the training needs and create development plans individual team members and ensure the team is performing to KPI’s and goals.
It is your responsibility to create a positive, engaging and inclusive environment to increase employee satisfaction and engagement.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a University Degree and a minimum of 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 18 years of relevant experience.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Fluent in OFCCP hiring guidelines and practices
Experience leading multi-layered organizations of 50+ talent acquisition advisors and leaders
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to manipulate data in excel (calculations, pivots, charts, etc.) and be able to interpret recruiting metrics as they relate to operational excellence
Experience building and executing recruitment strategies for engineering, operations and production & maintenance talent
Experience recruiting in manufacturing, engineering, or digital industries
Management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-department project teams or manage across multiple matrixed departments.
