We are looking for a top-notch Technical Writer to document our portfolio of wired, wireless, and cloud products. A successful candidate in this position has a networking background and can make complex concepts easy for our customers to understand. If you would like to unleash your creativity and your career - it’s time to join the Extreme Networks team! Position: Lead Technical WriterLocation: Remote, USA or Canada JOB DESCRIPTION:·        Conceptualize, plan, develop, and write high quality technical documentation to support the Extreme Networks hardware product line.·        Manage comprehensive documentation set using single-source authoring in oXygen (XML)/Tridion Docs to generate both HTML and PDF output.·        Author user documentation including getting started guides, command line references, API documentation, and system reference guides as required.·        Identify opportunities to implement document improvements to existing documentation set.Write in clear, concise, grammatically correct prose to translate engineering level technical information to service level technical customers.Maintain contact with Product Management, Project Management, Engineering,  and Quality Assurance to proactively keep technical documentation accurate.·        Capture and edit graphics for documentation content (as needed).·        Collaborate within documentation team to maintain consistency in deliverables and adopt best practices for task completion.Work with documentation team to create/maintain departmental processes, standards and style guides.·        Produce how-to videos, including writing scripts, filming, and recording voiceovers (as needed).·        Request document translations from approved vendors.REQUIREMENTS:·        Proficient in an XML authoring tool (preferable oXygen or XMetal)·        Proficient in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite·        Experience with writing and producing screen recording and videos a plus.·        Experience with structured authoring and single sourcing concepts using XML/DITA preferred·        Experience documenting complex networking technologies preferred·        Bachelor’s Degree in technical subject or communications-related subject·        Minimum of five years of related work experience·        Manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively·        Possess excellent organizational skills in both oral and written capacities·        Able to establish rapport and working relationships with a variety of personalities·        Excellent teamwork skills·        Function well in a fast-paced development environment with rapidly changing deadlines and project scope change·        Achieve goals and resolve complex issues with minimal supervision. Equal Employment Opportunity EmployerExtreme Networks does not accept unsolicited resumes from employment agencies.
