Requirements Engineer (Senior Business Analyst)

OpenVPN is seeking a senior requirements engineer (senior business analyst) to bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation. In this role, you will be responsible for eliciting, analyzing, and documenting requirements to ensure successful delivery of high-quality solutions.

Crucial in this position would be a proactive attitude and the ability to assume responsibility, take ownership of the documentation, and desire to drive the product to success.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and document business and technical requirements.

• Use various techniques to elicit requirements.

• Analyze and prioritize requirements based on business needs and constraints.

• Create comprehensive and clear documentation, including functional specifications, user stories, use cases, and workflows.

• Analyze requirements for feasibility, risks, and dependencies.

• Validate requirements with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals.

• Work with designers to ensure high quality of UX.

• Work with technical teams to assess the impact of changes or enhancements.

• Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams.

• Support development, testing, and deployment teams by clarifying requirements as needed.

• Facilitate requirement review sessions and stakeholder approvals.

  As a plus:

• Experience in defining requirements for VPN applications

• Experience with product metrics development to collect insights to make proper decisions about product development

• Familiarity with RESTful services

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in requirements engineering, business analysis, or related roles.

• Strong experience in writing technical documentation (functional and technical product specifications)

• Experience in telecommunications and/or security domains, confident domain knowledge (networking, protocols, authentication, etc.) is a must

• Good understanding of UX best practices

• Strong, effective communicator in both written and verbal.

• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
