***ANTICIPATED VACANCY***

 

 

What you will do: 

This postiion reports directly to the Stores Manager and involves responsible clerical and manual work incident to receiving, warehousing, and all supplies and equipment used by a large State Mental Health Facility.  Responsible fpr monitoring and approving requisitions in the Inventory PRO (IMVpro) and MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) to ensure proper level of supply items are ordered for accuracy and efficiency. 

 

How you will make an impact:

  • Maintains an inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment to be provided to other departments of the institution such as maintenance shops, janitorial services, food services, offices, and housing departments.
  • Initiates purchase orders for stores items to ensure that inventory levels are maintained at satisfactory levels.
  • Receives and supervises the shelving of stock items.
  • Establishes management accountability and control of all expendable and consumable materials.
  • Determines needs for additional stock items and adds them to the inventory.
  • Interviews salesmen and vendor representatives and evaluates new or substitute products.
  • Conducts studies to determine trends in stock use, inventory mix and price structure.
  • Maintains records and prepares reports as required.
  • Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • K nowledge of record-keeping procedures.
  • Ability to maintain an inventory of materials, supplies and equipment.
  • Ability to conduct studies pertaining to stock use, inventory mix and price structure.
  • Ability to prioritize workload.
  • Ability to develop various reports.
  • Ability to initiate purchase orders.
  • Ability to assess budgetary needs.
  • Ability to evaluate products.
  • Ability to interview others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • A least one year of clerical, supplies or storekeeping experience which involved storekeeping acitiviities.
