Network Engineer II

Job Summary: Performs a wide range of highly technical duties associated with the design, implementation and support of the Sheridan Infrastructure and related IT services to ensure 24/7 business continuity across multiple sites. 

 

NOTE: This is an ON-SITE position. Remote applicants will not be considered.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Incorporate new technology concepts into the planning and implementation processes for the LAN/WAN and SAN infrastructure using state-of-the-art data and network technology
• Read, interpret and develop technical specifications and support documents
• Establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with superiors, fellow workers, customers and vendors
• Develop project plans for implementing new installations or system upgrades
• Manage network security operations, install and maintain network hardware, anti-x software, firewall, intrusion prevention system and proactive monitoring of systems
• Manage and perform system backup and restore operations that align with business RPO/RTO guidelines
• Design IT workflow and customer guided support plans as needed
• Fulfill assigned service requests and assist help desk with escalated tickets
• Manage and maintain physical and virtual infrastructure environments
• Setup, install, maintain and troubleshoot PC hardware, software and network printers
• Manage and maintain Exchange Online, Office 365, Barracuda message archiving & Spam Firewalls
• Support AWS and Azure Hybrid Cloud environments and ability to support business applications
• Maintain and manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, NPS and user security
• Troubleshoot, analyze and investigate LAN/WAN/Wireless and VPN related issues
• Troubleshoot mail-flow and email connectivity issues
• Administer Storage Systems, monitoring storage capacity and storage provisioning
• Administer daily operations of Windows and Linux Servers
• Perform daily monitoring of critical server and infrastructure equipment
• Develop network and system support documentation
• Maintain, Install and support IIS, FTP, SQL, Apache and other third-party software products
• Maintain and support in-house development applications
• Maintain and support Core Business applications (ERP, CRM and Production Systems)
• Support inter-company data communications and site-to-site VPN tunnels
• Ability to support Sheridan locations 24/7 and occasional travel to other CJK facilities
• Assist with organizational compliance initiatives (GDPR, PCI, SOX, HIPAA, etc.)
• Conduct security assessments and compliance related scans, remediating vulnerabilities and other findings
• Serve as point of contact with third party vendors for technical support
• Maintain continuous education in Information Technology

 

Basic Qualifications:

• Available to come on-site daily and be available on-call during off-hours to physically support any hardware equipment on-site.
• BS in Computer Science, Information Technology or Information Systems. Equivalent experience and technical training may be substituted for the education requirements.
• 4 years’ experience and at least 2 years in current position as a Network Engineer
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Strong technical skills with computer systems and Microsoft Software Products
• Strong IPv4 networking skills and knowledge in TCP/IP Protocol
• Strong Cisco networking (Layer 2 & Layer 3)
• Strong knowledge in Office 365/EOL/SharePoint/Teams administration
• Performance monitoring, system tuning, and capacity planning experience is needed
• Must be flexible with schedule and able to work on multiple assignments simultaneously
