RevDB powers automated schema evolution, ETL transformations, and data normalization at scale. To design effective tools that expose and support these operations, you'll need to develop a deep understanding of RevDB as a product. These tools are essential for enabling internal teams and powering customer-facing administrative features.</span><br/><span>You’ll gain deep insight into the intricate ETL and data load processes that drive RevDB. Developing a systematic understanding of how data flows, transforms, and is governed across the platform will be essential to your success. This understanding will allow you to create smarter tools and efficient workflows — a critical competency for long-term growth in this role.</span><br/><span>As a Backend Software Engineer, you’ll apply your Java expertise and cloud-native or SaaS experience to design, build, and maintain backend services that power Clari’s high-scale revenue platform. You'll architect highly available and reliable systems, streamline complex data workflows, and contribute to both internal infrastructure and customer-facing functionality. You’ll also mentor fellow engineers and help drive the delivery of robust, high-quality solutions.</span><br/><i>This is a hybrid position, which will require the ability to be onsite in our Kraków, Poland office as needed. Candidates must be based in Poland.</i> <h3>Responsibilities </h3> <ul> <li>Lead the design and development of high-performance, scalable backend services using Java</li><li>Architect and implement multi-tenant SaaS solutions that meet enterprise security, reliability, and compliance standards</li><li>Develop and optimize data pipelines, APIs, and service-to-service integrations</li><li>Work with relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB), ensuring data integrity and performance</li><li>Drive observability improvements—metrics, logging, and distributed tracing—to ensure system health and reliability</li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally with product, DevOps, and data teams to deliver new features and infrastructure enhancements</li><li>Perform code reviews, establish best practices, and ensure technical excellence across the team</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance and production issues</li><li>Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering growth and skill development</li></ul> <h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>5+ years of professional experience in backend software development</li><li>Strong expertise in Java and object-oriented design principles</li><li>Proven track record of designing and delivering scalable SaaS or cloud-based systems</li><li>Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)</li><li>Experience with NoSQL systems (e.g., MongoDB)</li><li>Experience owning projects end-to-end — from design through deployment</li><li>Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical direction</li><li>Experience working on data-intensive SaaS applications</li><li>Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or other major providers is a plus</li><li>Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and microservices architectures (e.g., Kubernetes) is a plus</li><li>Experience with internal developer platforms or tools is a plus</li><li>Background in building or maintaining ETL workflows is a plus</li><li>Experience in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Typescript is a plus</li></ul> <h3>Perks and Benefits @ Clari
