About the role
Overview
The Accounts Payable Associate is responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions related to the maintenance and processing of accounts payable records, invoices, and related documentation. This role supports monthly vendor statement reconciliations, responds to internal and external accounts payable inquiries, and assists Accounts Payable Managers with monthly and quarterly closing activities.Responsibilities
- Review and reconcile vendor statements at least monthly, or more frequently based on payment terms.
- Review accounts payable records to ensure transactions are accurately recorded and properly authorized for payment.
- Receive, verify, process, and enter missing invoices in accordance with GPM guidelines.
- Adhere to established internal controls and accounting procedures as directed by management.
- Perform manual check postings for assigned vendors.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in accounts payable or general accounting preferred.
- Experience performing account reconciliations required.
- Experience with PDI/Enterprise, Laserfiche, and Concur preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and ethical business practices.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees and management at all levels.
- Strong time management, organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent research and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
