Eagle's Wing Child Care and Education Programs is hiring Assistant Teachers!

We currently have two roles available, one that supports all age groups and one that focuses on infant and toddler care. Responsibilities:

Assists with curriculum preparation, classroom facilitation, and student monitoring to ensure safety and foster an environment of learning and development. Interacts regularly with parents.
  • 40% Assists with the planning and facilitation of classroom programming and classroom coordination and organization for a early childhood education facility according to established curriculums
  • 15% Maintains the safety and physical well-being of children in a designated classroom
  • 15% Updates and organizes individualized and developmental educational plans for children
  • 15% Assists with basic technical and administrative classroom support
  • 15% Documents effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to relay pertinent information and provide updates of child activities per established guidelines and regulations

Tasks:

  • Performs duties in a highly diverse childcare center that provides early-childhood, 4K, and school-age programs.
  • Performs duties that support a multicultural, inclusive, and anti-bias approach to learning and educational environment.
  • Provides support and assist as needed in the implementation of plans and procedures in the event of an emergency.
  • Works in accordance with licensing rules and city/national accreditation standards.

Education:

Qualifications:

Required:
- Minimum of one (1) year working in full day play-based Early Childhood Education environments.
- Completion of the Early Childhood Early Childhood Courses "Introduction to the Child Care Profession" and "Fundamentals of Infant and Toddler Care", or completion of equivalent courses.

Preferred:
- Training in High Scope, Pyramid Model and /or Conscious Discipline
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Work Schedule:

Primary schedule for this position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during the center's hours of operation. Schedule will be determined with selected finalist(s) at time of offer.

Schedule alterations as operations and position expectations demand.

Work Type:

Full Time: 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $18.70 HOURLY
Depending on Qualifications
This is a full-time appointment. The starting hourly wage is $18.70 or higher based on qualifications and includes a competitive retirement and benefits package.

Additional Information:

A criminal background check will be conducted on finalist(s).

First-time employee must complete a physical exam (at their own cost) and provide proof of a negative TB skin test prior to the first day of employment, again every 2 - 5 years.

This position plays an active role in fast-paced classroom activities with physical demands. The worker must be able to perform physical job demands throughout the workday with or without a reasonable accommodation.
