YOUR MISSION (The Job Description)

This position is responsible for inspecting and reviewing, but may also prepare and report financial transactions and budgetary controls for assigned funds and departments, compilation of gaming revenues, related tax filings, accuracy of financial statements and performance of audit and validation procedures to ensure accuracy of financial statements and compliance with all regulatory controls for the casino operation located inside Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.

Qualifications

THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties)

• Examine assigned financial records and statements for accuracy
• Analyze financial data, making recommendations as appropriate to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reduce costs
• Inspect the budget and general ledger for assigned departments and accounts, ensuring that funds are available, and expenditures are assigned correctly
• Review and/or assist with preparation of financial statements and records provided to federal, state, and internal auditors and similar personnel
• As needed, assist with accounting duties for and corrections to listed financial records
• As appropriate, identify and recommend updates to accounting systems and procedures
• Assist as needed with preparation of annual financial reports
• Review and assure accuracy and timeliness of account reconciliations for the Accounting Department
• Participate in the monthly departmental financial reviews
• Responsible for the hiring, training, scheduling and evaluation of the accounting staff
• Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of the activities by way of the daily operating report and other daily and periodic financial reports of operations
• Perform other duties as assigned

MUST HAVE'S

• Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
• In lieu of a degree and previously mentioned experience five years of supervisory experience in an operational accounting department or in a high volume, complex casino or hospitality environment may be considered
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications and products
• Expert knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
• Proficient with accounting software
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills

WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE'S

• Knowledge of company department policies and procedures
• Basic understanding of the company budget process
• Ability to facilitate department roles in monthly financial closings
