Innovation Engineering Department 

The Innovation Engineering team is responsible for the development of standards, templates, specifications, and owner’s requirements documents in support of Vantage’s global growth, most notably leading the Vantage prototyping effort known as OneDesign. 

The team collaborates with all multi-functional teams within Vantage to drive prototypical designs for global deployment to ensure high quality, consistent product deployments in alignment with constantly evolving internal and external customer requirements. In addition to standards development, the Innovation Engineering team is responsible for leading due diligence assessment of merger and acquisition opportunity, and development of design requirements for customer build to suit opportunities.

Vantage is seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Systems Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of advanced automation systems across our data centers. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and engineering, to ensure the seamless integration of automation technologies that enhance operational efficiency and reliability. The Senior Automation Systems Specialist will lead automation projects, troubleshoot complex system issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. 

Essential Job Functions 

Automation System Design and Implementation: 

• Design, program, and implement automation systems for data center operations, including Building Management Systems (BMS), SCADA systems, and PLC-based control systems. 

• Develop and maintain control system architecture, network layouts, and communication protocols to ensure reliable and efficient automation systems. 

• Lead the integration of new automation technologies and systems into existing infrastructure, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. 

System Maintenance and Troubleshooting: 

• Perform regular maintenance and updates to automation systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. 

• Troubleshoot complex issues related to automation systems, providing technical support to operations and engineering teams as needed. 

• Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to minimize system downtime. 

Project Management: 

• Lead automation projects from conception through completion, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management. 

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. 

• Prepare and present project status reports to management and key stakeholders.
