Summer internships at Brakebush are project-based. Interns experience a variety of projects that can include data collection, analysis, reporting, data entry, policy and procedure, market research and more. At the end of the summer internship program, we host a banquet, so interns have an opportunity to showcase their projects to various leaders within Brakebush.

What you will do: 
As a Customer Finance Intern, you will gain a better understanding of the Accounting and Finance related tasks involved in the commercial side of our business.   You will experience will include various tasks and analysis involved with our customers. 

 

Position Schedule: 

• Hybrid work schedule (50% remote/working in the office every Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday).
   

You will gain experience in the following areas:

• Accounts receivable transactions and reporting.  Work with the AR department to ensure valid and on-time invoicing.  This will also include analyzing key AR metrics to identify trends.
• Balance sheet reconciliations of receivable related G/L accounts
• Monthly analysis of changes in market-based pricing.  Also assist with the calculations market-price products
• Sales & profitability reporting and analysis

 

Qualifications for the internship: 

• We are looking for students pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Math or related field
• Preferred: Junior or Senior
• Currently holding a GPA of 2.75 or higher
• Passion for learning and growing

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong communicator, public speaking experience, and relationship builder
• Basic accounting knowledge, an understanding of gross margin calculation
• Able to work autonomously and with a team
• Strength with strategic, analytical thinking and attention to detail
• Positive attitude and adaptability
• Use of MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and Teams; Emphasis on your incredible Excel skills

 

Must be prepared to follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices): 

• No jewelry or piercings are allowed on the plant floor.
• No false fingernails or fingernail polish on the plant floor.
• PPE and a uniform will be worn if on the plant floor. 
• No shorts; professional business casual attire only.

 

Your internship will be in an office or plant environment. The office work environment has standard temperatures and normal office noise levels.

 

This position would be primarily sitting with little to no lifting or other physical demands.
