Description of the role:
The Cook/Utility Worker at Neulife Rehabilitation is responsible for both cooking and utility tasks. This role involves working in the kitchen and supporting the food service team. The Cook/Utility Worker will be responsible for preparing meals, adhering to recipes and portion sizes, cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, assisting with food inventory and ordering, and ensuring that food safety and sanitation standards are met.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and portion sizes
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment
- Assist with food inventory and ordering
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met
- Follow proper food handling procedures
- Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies
- Assist in washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen area
Requirements:
- Prior experience as a cook or utility worker preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Good physical stamina and dexterity
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid food handler's permit
