Environmental ServicesOverview of Position:
Provides leadership resources on task assignments. Plans, organizes, directs, controls, and assists in project management through staffing and scheduling adjustments. Performs quality assurance monitors and records results. Directs training and follows up. Evaluates performance of employees and gives feedback. Maintains adequate inventory control. Serves as a role model and team leader.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Uses and maintains cleaning equipment properly and safely.
2. Performs all cleaning tasks and floor maintenance according to industry standards including isolation cleaning, while adhering to infection control standards.
3. Uses and maintains equipment used to perform tasks properly, safely, and competently.
4. Handles, disposes of soiled linen, trash, infectious waste and hazardous waste according to mandated procedures and infection control standards.
5. Responds to all requests through Bed Tracking and Service Response Center in a proper and timely manner.
6. Handles all linen according to procedures and usage.
7. Performs maintenance repairs i.e. faucet repair, unclogging of drains and changing light bulbs using proper equipment and supplies.
8. Maintains privacy and confidentiality at all times.
9. Participates in mandatory in-service meetings (e.g. TB testing, safety, HIPAA).
10. Speaks to patients and co-workers in a respectful manner.
11. Uses Quality Control Program as outlined in the Department Policy: i.e. collects data and uses information for department or individual performance indicator and trainings.
12. Conducts trainings for staff concerning changes in procedures, products and policies.
13. Proper use and training of staff in all software systems related to department functions.
14. Facilitates department safety meetings and weekly huddles and others as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Prior supervisory experience required with experience in environmental services or maintenance.
3. Certified in U.S. DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations (49CFR 100-185)
4. Knowledge, usage, and handling of all cleaning agents in a safe way using proper personal protective equipment.
5. Ability to receive/follow/communicate written/oral instructions clearly and accurately in order to assure job coverage and task completion.
6. Demonstrates patience, good judgment and initiative in decision-making and setting priorities.
7. Moderate computer skills.
