Our cancer center provides a range of services to patients including clinical trials and internationally recognized cancer research efforts ensuring patients have access to the latest advances in cancer treatment, as well as a range of support programs helping patients navigate the challenges associated with a cancer diagnosis. Cleveland Clinic is recognized in the U.S. and throughout the world for its expertise and care. By working as a Clinical Assistant on the team, you will provide professional nursing care to patients in the cancer center. This position will allow you to earn further certificates, become a subject matter expert in this field and even have the chance to move on to becoming an Assistant Nurse Manager or Nurse Manager.
A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM – 4:30PM or 8:30AM – 5:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage and establish care plans.
Administer medications and treatments.
Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures and specialized patient care equipment.
Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families.
Cover other nursing roles within the department.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) C
