Your department:

Statkraft has undergone a material strategical and organisational change within 2022 with a clear vision to renew the way the world is powered through an accelerated growth ambition on the development of solar, onshore and offshore wind, and battery storage. Europe is in the heart of this strategy and will therefore be the core geographic area to focus on. The Asset Exposure Management Europe unit originated from this change and is in its early stage of development. The unit is responsible for actively managing the market exposure of Statkraft’s existing and future assets in Europe to ensure long-term value creation. We manage several risk management portfolios for the existing power asset portfolio that aims at balancing risk / reward with the intend to add value through profound market competence. Further, we guide the asset owner with commercial strategy support on route-to-market options for the development pipeline and Statkraft’s future asset base. The role is vital for Statkraft’s growth ambition, you will be given responsibility from day one and you will get the chance to actively contribute to its development! As senior commercial strategy advisor you report to the VP Asset Exposure Management Europe.

Job Description

  • Providing and developing strategic market advice through quantitative analytics as well as energy market research.
  • Own, administer and organize the interface towards the Asset Owner by handling Market Board Meetings, within those contribute with market analysis and outlooks.
  • Develop and own route-to-market decisions for Statkraft’s asset base to optimize its revenue potential as well as to provide the best possible value towards the company.
  • Lead and manage ‘prepare for operations’ projects for new asset development activities and ensure proper and timely delivery of market services from BA Market to BA Europe.
  • Implement and manage route-to-market decisions end-to-end, orchestrating various functions within BA Markets in close collaboration with the Asset Owner.
  • Maturing the department’s Single Point of Contact role towards the Asset Owner.
  • Being a part of the asset exposure management Europe team in its early phase, your input and deliveries will play an instrumental role in identification and implementation of activities required to develop the function within Statkraft.

  • Various price forecasting teams within Statkraft

Qualifications

Education 

  • Relevant higher education at Master´s level (Economics, Sciences, Engineering or similar)

Experience / Knowledge 

  • At least 5 to 7 years experience within the electricity market sphere with deep understanding of power market fundamentals and excellent understanding of the range of Market’s products
  • Very strong stakeholder management, facilitation and communication skills including project management experience or other leadership experience.
  • Proven quantitative, analytical, problem-solving and conceptual thinking skills
  • Collaborative work style and strong interpersonal and team skills
  • Ability to identify key issues, analyze data, and make recommendations to ensure the departments function meets asset owners expectations.
  • Ability to translate complex analysis into concrete and easily understandable recommendations and actions.
  • Ability to effectively plan and lead the correct processes to develop the departments function and its interfaces.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products (Excel and PowerPoint) to perform complex numerical analysis and facilitate communications.
  • Strong commercial mindset and proactive problem solver
  • Management consulting background preferred but not a requirement.
