Job Description
The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a high caliber Construction Quality Manager for immediate employment in Chicago, IL. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of successfully managing and performing quality activities for construction projects in the area of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Prepares, implements and maintains a quality plan for the construction manager that follows the FTA and client’s requirements.
- Maintains relationships on behalf of the construction manager with client, subconsultants, contractors and stakeholders to support project partnering and issue resolution, including the processing of nonconformance reports.
- Coordinates initial project quality training and partnering efforts for the construction manager.
- Routinely audits project for contractual and governing authority compliance, seeking continuous improvement and providing feedback to the construction manager’s executive management and the client.
- Prepares reports on the construction manager’s adherence to the project quality program.
- Support and supplement the client’s quality management system.
- Review and provide recommendations on the contractor’s quality plan, testing and inspection plan and quality audit reports for acceptance by the client.
- Investigates and documents independently select quality issues as directed by the construction manager’s management.
- Attend quality review meetings with the client and construction manager.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS + 8 Years Of Relevant Experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid Driver’s License required
Preferred Qualifications
- Ten (10) years of experience working in a QA/QC capacity, preferably with complex passenger rail transit infrastructure projects experience.
- Familiarity with the FTA’s Quality Management System Guidelines and the FTA’s 15 essential elements of a good quality program.
- Familiarity with ISO 9000 series quality management principles.
- Experience performing quality audits both in the office and out in the field, as well as managing non-conformance and corrective action activities, preferably for large public transportation system projects.
- Advanced certifications from the American Society of Quality or other comparably recognized organization
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
