Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento is the foundation of Sutter Health, Northern California's largest health network with 29 acute care hospitals, more than 5,000 primary care physicians and specialists, home health, occupational health, psychiatric care and more. The downtown Sacramento medical center is made up of several facilities that include Ose Adams Medical Pavilion, Anderson Lucchetti Women's & Children's Center, and Sutter Center for Psychiatry.Ose Adams Medical Pavilion
The 281-bed specialty medical center focuses on general acute medical/surgical care as well as a medical base to advanced services for cancer, orthopedics, spine, and neurology, and neurosurgery.
Anderson Lucchetti Women's & Children's Center
The 242-bed specialty medical center focuses on women's and children's specialty services and includes medical intensive care units for cardiac and neurological patients.
Leads the Infection Prevention and Control Program across Sutter Health to ensure compliance with accreditation standards, state and federal regulations, and hospital, operating unit, and system policies. Is responsible for standardizing processes across these facilities, in keeping with the Sutter Health Mission, Vision and Values, in alignment the strategic plan. Responsible for deploying strategic goals for infection control through joint planning, prioritization, and development of operational initiatives, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives and projects to ensure effective use of resources. Keeps informed about hospital programs, services, and initiatives, aligning departmental objectives, and communicating/affirming the information to the infection prevention staff and Quality and Safety Departments' personnel.
Job Description:
EDUCATION:
- Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
- Master's: Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Education or a related field.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
- RN-Registered Nurse of California
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 8 years recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of cms/tjc/imq and other healthcare related infection control accreditation standards and federal and state regulations
- Ability to analyze information, plan courses of action, develop resources, implement change, evaluate outcomes, and improve operations.
- Ability to delegate.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities/tasks.
- Advanced computer skills and ability to adapt readily to new technology.
- Interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, as well as presentational skills.
- Solid, credible knowledge of infection prevention and control functions/regulatory knowledge.

Pay Range is $75.45 to $120.73 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
