Schedule: Part-time (up to 30 hours per week)
Shift: Day shift, 10-hour shifts, no holidays or weekends. Shift start and end times: Start time varies 6am-7am
Starting Pay: 23.86 minimum (Offers are based on years of experience and equity for this role.)
Shift Differentials: Increases for Evenings, Nights, & Weekends based on State and Job Profile
Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician will assist the registered pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical services through the execution of the essential operational and clinical responsibilities of the pharmacists to provide safe and quality patient care. Will work with the registered pharmacist to ensure the department is run efficiently and in accordance with the department’s philosophies, goals, and objectives. He/she will be responsible for technician scheduling and monitoring of technician performance.Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

Position Accountabilities
1) Follows necessary departmental policies and procedures to perform all job related responsibilities with accuracy and efficiency. 25%
Criteria
A) Demonstrates proficiency in the selection of appropriate drug, strength, quantity, and form of administration when performing all job related responsibilities. These responsibilities include:
1. Proficiency/accuracy in filling oral and topical medications.
- Filling of patient-specific unit-dose medications.
- Filling/exchanging pyxis medication loads, unloads, and refills.
- Packaging of extemporaneous unit doses of tablets, capsules, and liquids using the proper equipment.
- Pending/Loading/Filling/Unloading medication in pyxis.
2. Proficiency/accuracy in charging/crediting of patient-specific medications.
- Charging and crediting medications to the correct patient account, right number or doses within the 3 day window.
- Recording medication units dispensed and/or returned.
3. Proficiency/accuracy IV Admixture.
- Set up and preparation of intravenous solutions, admixtures, hyperalimentation solutions, intravenous additives, and the preparation of chemotherapy agents by using aseptic techniques.
4. Accuracy in assisting in Inventory Control.
- Indicating medications needed to be reordered.
- Restocking medications appropriately.
- Removing discontinued or expired medications.
- Replacement and removal of floor stock.
5. General technician responsibilities.
- Understanding the medication delivery system.
- Maintaining a clean and organized dispensing area.
- Accurate/timely delivery of medications to nursing/ancillary units.
- Documentation of daily temperature logs.
- Monthly floorstock inspections.
- Delivery/documentation of all narcotic paperwork.
2) Assists a registered pharmacist in his/her day-to-day pharmaceutical care activities. 20%
