Department Summary

Campus Planning and Facilities Management (CPFM) is a dynamic unit within the Finance and Administration portfolio, comprising seven departments and approximately 300 dedicated employees:

Building Operations and Maintenance includes Maintenance Support, Carpentry, Building Automation Systems (BAS), Electrical, Painting, Plumbing, Mechanical, Lock and Door, and Fleet Services. These teams handle the maintenance, repair, and minor renovation of university buildings, vehicles, and equipment at the Eugene and Portland campuses. Their work ensures that the University of Oregon community has a safe, efficient, reliable, functional, and attractive learning environment, supporting the University’s mission and vision. Position Summary

This position provides journey-level expertise in electrical construction and maintenance within a collaborative team environment.

The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance and repair of existing building electrical systems, including the replacement of components such as lighting fixtures, branch circuits, and overcurrent and short-circuit protection devices. Duties also include the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of electronic equipment, encompassing both commercial and specialized systems that may require custom design and unique maintenance procedures.

Additionally, the role involves maintaining, repairing, and replacing components of campus exterior lighting systems and associated control devices, including both pole-mounted and building-mounted fixtures.

Minimum Requirements

Possession of one of the following Oregon Electrician's Licenses appropriate to the work to be performed:

• General Supervising Electrician License
• General Journeyman Electrician License
• Limited Journey Manufacturing Plant License
• Limited Supervising Manufacturing Plant License
