Summary of Job: The Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) is a field-based, customer-facing role primarily focused on the identification and development of enduring relationships with current and emerging key opinion leaders (KOLs) within the U.S. rare genetic metabolic bone disease community.  The TLL will also ensure collaborative working relationships across certain internal and external functions e.g., Regional Sales Manager and home office on projects with Mid-levels/Community Practices.  The TLL will work closely with the other field professionals, including but not limited to Field Sales, RSMs, and Rare Disease MSLs, and ensure adherence and collaboration, within approved SOPs. In addition, the TLL will work with home office-based colleagues in Marketing, Advocacy, Medical Affairs, Sales, and Market Access. Lastly, the TLL will implement a National KOL Strategy and Engagement plan in partnership with the Brand Team and cross-functional stakeholders.

Essential Functions: Identify and Engage HCPs

The TLL will identify and establish appropriate engagement opportunities with product advocates and rare genetic metabolic bone disease Regional & National influencers to help educate and provide solutions for patients. The TLL will monitor Mid-levels/Community Practices treatment patterns via sales data, publications, presentations, within our labeled indications, syndicate this information with appropriate corporate and field-based colleagues, and assist in developing educational and other commercial activities.  Additionally, the TLL will be responsible for identifying and training appropriate speakers on the commercial message within their respective region.

 

Key Deliverables will include:

  • Identify and develop regional and national Mid-levels/Community Practices across the Endocrine, Nephrology and other specialties in the rare disease community.
  • Help establish Kyowa Kirin as a leader in the U.S. rare metabolic bone disease space.
  • Uncover gaps in patient care.
  • Serve as a conduit between Home Office and the KOL community.
  • Engage Mid-levels/Community Practices to identify potential patient ambassadors.
  • Work closely with marketing to strategically coordinate appropriate engagement opportunities with identified physicians and assist with Mid-levels/Community Practices recruitment for service arrangements as appropriate through the applicable customer engagement process.
  • Work closely with Thought Leaders to obtain feedback to be considered in the development of marketing strategies and provide field-based intelligence to internal stakeholders at regular intervals.
  • Identifies and develops Mid-levels/Community Practices within territory to participate in Speakers Bureaus for U.S. rare genetic bone metabolic diseases(s), as well as other commercial projects (product theaters, webinars, print materials, video, training).
  • Partner with Sales & Marketing to assess speaker utilization and ensure compliance with internal guidelines.
  • Attend local, regional & national speaking engagements & summarize effectiveness; ensure follow-up with Mid-Levels and Sales and Marketing.
  • Support commercial ad board activities.
  • Organize sponsorships for activities such as Grand Rounds virtual and in-person.

 

Scientific Congress Management:

  • Manages regional and national congresses serving as the primary contact to the home office for budgeting, contracting, logistics, attendance, pull-through and KOL meetings.

 

Center of Excellent (COE):

  • Works with cross-functional teams to develop and implement COE engagement plans.
  • Facilitate interaction of senior leadership with regional and national KOLs.
  • Support multidisciplinary team development with TLL.

 

 

Job Requirements: Education

Bachelor’s degree in Life Science (or equivalent) required.

Advanced Degree (preferred)

 

Experience

7+ years’ experience in one or more of the following: Field Sales, Product Marketing, and or Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. Rar
