About the role

Ascendis Pharma is a dynamic, fast-growing global biopharmaceutical company with locations in Denmark, Europe, and the United States. Today, we're advancing programs in Endocrinology Rare Disease and Oncology.

We are seeking a dedicated HR Generalist/Business Partner to join our team. As an HR Generalist, you will be responsible for supporting key HR functions, including on-boarding, data management, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, and compliance. You will work closely with both employees and management to ensure a positive work environment and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Partnering: Serve as key HR contact forbusiness groups providing support to people leaders on business issues such as organizational design
  • Employee Relations: Act as a point of contact for employee and people leaders, helping to resolve issues, promote a positive culture, and enhance employee engagement.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs and facilitate employee development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Change management and organizational effectiveness
  • Compensation: provide guidance on compensation-related matters.
  • On-boarding of new US employees: Manage the end-to-end onboarding experience, coordinating with managers and cross-functional teams (IT, Admin, Finance). Ensure data accuracy in our HCM, payroll, and benefits systems
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • People Practices & Policy Implementation: Support the development and enforcement of company policies and procedures.

 

Position Details:

  • Regular, full-time position with flexible working arrangements.
  • Onsite presence in our Palo Alto, CA office 3 times per week or more, as necessary.
  • Travel within the US &/or to our corporate headquarters in Denmark may be necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in a human resource role including at least 3 years as a generalist
  • Biotechnology experience strongly preferred
  • Employee relationship experience required
  • Compensation experience required, familiarity with Radford strongly preferred
  • Proven skills in change management and organizational effectiveness
  • Strong collaboration, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
