This is a responsible executive nursing position performs professional, supervisory and administrative work. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Chief of Medical and Health Services within the Division of Children’s Medical Services (CMS).
This individual will be responsible for all supervisory duties including, but not limited to, hiring and selection, developing performance plans, conducting performance appraisals, planning and directing work, approving leave and taking disciplinary action as appropriate.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supervises clinical and administrative staff responsible for quality assurance monitoring ensuring programmatic standards are met, provision of technical assistance, along with staff and provider development.
Leads and coordinates internal audits of clinical and administrative processes and documentation to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and program objectives or identify needed areas for quality improvement.
Conducts statewide program quality management reviews by records reviews, process evaluation and analysis of documentation, work product, and data. Oversees the development and maintenance of program standards, service delivery, and outcomes.
Monitors, analysis or evaluates quantitative and qualitative data. Investigates quality issues and root causes. Identifies, implements or monitors quality improvement practices. Drafts, reviews and finalizes programmatic reports.
Collaborates with program staff and management to design and implement or maintain performance improvement programs that support long-term goals, using quality improvement methods and best practices.
Identifies ongoing and periodic training needs for staff and provider onboarding and development, including skill-building training in the specialized field of pediatrics and complex medical care. Designs and develops or procures needed evidenced based training or training programs to implement. Training is inclusive of evaluation methods for ongoing monitoring of training needs, quality assurance and improvement.
Oversees the development, review, and revision of program rules, reports, manuals, process flows, training, procedures, and policies. Assists in the drafting and analysis of proposed legislation and rules deemed necessary to improve service delivery.
Provides consultation and technical assistance to departmental staff, providers, and the public regarding program information and issues. Coordinates responses to oral and written requests for programmatic information.
