Job Details

Indian River Cleveland Clinic is seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Hospital Medicine team. The APP will provide high-quality, evidence-based inpatient care in collaboration with hospitalists, specialists, surgeons, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team. This is an exciting opportunity to practice in a dynamic, team-based environment focused on excellence in patient care, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in post operative medical co management of patient with surgical team
  • Facilitate timely hospital admissions in PACU
  • Perform comprehensive assessments, formulate diagnoses, and develop treatment plans for acutely ill adult patients.
  • Manage the day-to-day care of hospitalized patients including admissions, rounding, consults, and discharges.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and initiate appropriate therapies.
  • Document patient care clearly and efficiently in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, patients, and families regarding patient status, treatment plans, and goals of care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and educational activities.
  • Adhere to hospital protocols, safety policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage time effectively and respond to emergencies in a calm, competent manner

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of FL.
  • Certification by AANP, ANCC (for NPs), or NCCPA (for PAs).
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Experience in post surgical management and inpatient/hospital medicine or acute care experience preferred, but new graduates with strong clinical backgrounds will be considered.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Schedule:

  • Monday- Friday 8am-5pm with flexibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts thorough medical histories, performs complete physical examinations (where indicated), initiates appropriate lab, radiology tests or other special tests required for evaluation of illness, and scrutinizes lab data on new and former clinic patients and hospital admissions to establish a record of the patient's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Must be able to work with collaborating physician.
  • Performs and interprets, at least to the point of recognizing deviations from normal, common laboratory, radiologic, cardiographic and other routine diagnostic procedures used to identify pathophysiologic processes as privileged by CCF Credentialing Board.
  • Performs routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, managing simple conditions produced by infection or trauma, assisting in the management of more complex illness and injury which may include assisting surgeons in conducting operations and taking initiative in performing evaluation and therapeutic procedures in response to life- threatening situations, as privileged by CCF Credentialing Board.
