Job Specific Working Conditions:
Located in the heart of NC, Randolph County is best known for the city of Asheboro and the NC Zoo. Although largely a blue collar community, multiple industries are moving to Asheboro and the city is headed into a huge season of growth with new shops, restaurants and businesses popping up to meet the anticipated population growth. In fact, the population is expected to hit 100,000 by 2029. Being in the center of the state has its perks - Asheboro is located within 25-30 minutes of Greensboro and High Point, and provides day trip proximity to both the mountains and the beach.
Current ministry takes place at Asheboro High School and Southwestern Randolph High School, but the county contains an additional six public high schools. In addition, Randolph County has a flourishing YoungLives ministry.
Randolph County Young Life is seeking to hire an Area Director who can step in and lead at Asheboro High school while also helping develop a Young Life presence in other areas of the county. This AD would be responsible for overseeing a second-year Staff Associate as well as a YoungLives Coordinator.
The need is for someone who understands the intricacies of a small town and is willing to put down roots here for the next five years. We desire a winsome Christ-follower who will not only invite potential leaders/committee/donors to partner with us but train and model out incarnational ministry with our current volunteers. We are looking for ways to attract new committee members who have high school or middle school aged children.
Area Director I
Summary:Through spiritual leadership and proper management, lead in developing a team in the area to carry out Young Life’s mission of introducing kids to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith.
Ministry Functions:
Spiritual Development — “Following Jesus” includes prayer and spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth and health and church relationships.
Leadership Development — “Equipping leaders, committee and staff” includes key volunteer care, recruiting, team building and training, supervision and vision casting.
Resource Development — “Fueling the ministry” includes events, major donor care, public relations (branding) and TDS team.
Direct Ministry — “Proclaiming and modeling” includes contact work, club, Campaigners
