Pay Range
$103,800.00-$142,700.00 AnnualThis is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to lead all health, safety, and environmental initiatives at our base plant. This role is critical in fostering a culture of safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across all HSE functions. The successful candidate will manage the HSE team, oversee strategic planning, and ensure alignment with corporate policies and federal/state regulations.
Your Day to Day:
Strategic Leadership & Compliance:
- Lead the development and execution of HSE strategies to ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
- Conduct site audits, gap analyses, and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
- Develop and implement the Annual Operating Plan for the HSE team.
Risk Management & Safety Culture:
- Identify and assess facility risk exposures; prioritize and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Champion the journey toward OSHA VPP Star Site certification, including oversight of training and emergency preparedness programs.
- Facilitate incident investigations, root cause analyses, and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
Environmental Stewardship:
- Oversee environmental monitoring systems and ensure accurate recordkeeping in compliance with JM policies and regulatory requirements.
- Manage industrial wastewater discharge to protect groundwater and surface water, ensuring compliance with discharge permits.
- Lead efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle solid, universal, and hazardous waste through root cause elimination and process improvements.
Reporting & Communication:
- Prepare and communicate HSE metrics, reports, and performance updates to stakeholders.
- Support functional safety plans and lead designated safety committees.
Regulatory Expertise & Process Oversight:
- Ensure all process changes comply with internal and external HSE standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of work experience in environmental, health, and safety in a manufacturing setting
- Title V air permit and general Ohio EPA regulation knowledge
- Water permit management experience
- Hazardous waste management experience
- Significant knowledge of safety and environmental regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, etc.) and the ability to work with respective outside agencies
- Strong organizational and training skills
- Thorough proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Ability to work well with upper-level management and with production workforce
- Solid leadership skills
- Proven root-cause analysis skills
- Solid analytical ability to determine and develop solutions to moderately complex problems
- Ability to direct personnel, coordinate contractors and manage projects/processes within regulatory standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Manages a staff of 1 hourly EH&S Technician, sets direction and deploys resources. Responsible for performance evaluations, pay reviews, hiring, and terminating.
