Maxar seeks a Senior Manager to lead technology innovation and collaboration efforts in support of national security. Principal Responsibilities:
- Successfully manage technical program by adhering to schedule, cost, and compliance to contract obligations and adhere to quality control for all relevant requirements.
- Manage day-to-day program operations, develop long-term strategic objectives.
- Adapt the SAFe Agile processes to project requirements and collaboratively plan and execute our Sprint and Program Increments as Release Train Engineer.
- Provide functional oversight of staff to guide personnel on career development and business objectives
- Perform horizontal integration planning and collaborate with other functional areas to implement business solutions promptly. This includes but is not limited to: EAC, forecasting, billing, and scheduling.
- Oversee geographically dispersed prime and sub-contract staff through the entire software project lifecycle, including SAFe agile principles, design, development, integration, deployment, and operations support.
- Maintain strong servant leadership relationships with clients, staff, and cross functional teams to foster a collaborative and effective working environment.
- Develop strategies to forecast and manage program risks and identify growth opportunities.
- Drive contract growth and client satisfaction.
- Participate in bid and proposal activities.
Skills Required
- Leadership, management, and interpersonal communications skills necessary to inspire, lead, direct, and manage a team to support of a diverse group of government customers.
- Proficiency in Agile Program Management, including resource estimation using point-based systems, tracking progress with team velocity and burn-down charts, and adjusting plans based on team velocity and evolving priorities.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills for complex customer issues and environments.
- Effective in contract, finance, schedule, personnel, and risk management.
- Ability to identify scope creep and issue engineering change requests to prevent cost overruns and schedule delays.
- Skilled at building effective and trusting relationships with customers, management, teammates, peers and subordinates.
- Flexible, organized and able to understand the big picture while focusing on mission-critical details.
- Willingness to work onsite 80% in a SCIF environment; travel locally ~10% and occasionally, out of state.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in technical discipline plus 10 years of professional experience (or Master's degree plus five years of experience) in program and technical oversight for technology, schedule/cost management and team leadership.
- Demonstrated success with delivering functional capabilities to the government's satisfaction utilizing agile management principles.
- Managing as prime contractor for government clients.
- Active TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship.
Desired Attributes:
- Track record, passion and empathy for operational IC/DoD mission success. Deep knowledge of ISR, TCPED and GEOINT lifecycles is a plus!
- Competency with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Generally Accepted Principles (GAP), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), Earned Value Management System (EVMS), and Scaled Agile for the Enterprise (SAFe).
- Experience in managing or implementation of building, deploying, and maintaining modern software and hardware systems architectures for national security customers.
