About the Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Headspace Health:
Length: 1 year
We’re looking for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our growing Science team and help Headspace Health deliver on our vision of a world where everyone is kind to their mind, by transforming mental healthcare to improve the health and happiness of the world.
The Research Fellow will have the unique opportunity to independently lead and support a variety of projects within the Research team, for both the Headspace product and coaching, psychotherapy and psychiatry services. These projects serve to evaluate the impact of Headspace Health products and services on both clinical and economic outcomes and contribute to product innovation and quality improvement efforts. This is an independent role that requires publication experience and desire to innovate through research, and we are seeking someone who is excited to contribute to translational research at Headspace Health. This role will provide a unique and valuable opportunity to learn about and experience how rigorous research practice can inform business strategy and decisions, as well as how research is externally promoted and leveraged.
This is an excellent position for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and would like to explore careers in the digital mental health industry. You’ll work with talented individuals within the Research team, as well as across other functions, and leverage your publication and applied research skills.
How your skills and passion will come to life at Headspace Health:
- Independently drive manuscript writing and submission of manuscripts to high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.
- Independently generate research questions important to business priorities and conduct data analyses for both RCT and RWE studies.
- Draft study related documentation including study protocols and analysis plans.
- Support dissemination of research findings through presentations and documents for commercial assets, customers, and conferences.
- Respond to relevant internal ad hoc research requests.
- Support project and team coordination as needed.
What you’ve accomplished:
- Recent Ph.D. with an emphasis in behavioral/clinical science, public health/epidemiology, social sciences, or related fields.
- Demonstrated record of leading and executing high-quality, peer-reviewed publications from beginning to end.
- Strong scientific writing and statistical skills.
- Strong knowledge and implementation skills of a variety of research methods to evaluate clinical outcomes, including RCTs and RWE studies.
- Strong knowledge of and comfort with implementing advanced statistical methods such as causal inference methods and working with real-world data.
- Proficient in data analysis and analytic tools (R, Stata, Python, etc.). R is preferred.
- (Preferred, but not required) Candidate has successfully applied for and received funding through a grant mechanism.
- (Preferred, but not required) Experience with HEOR studies and claims analyses.
Other Skills and Qualities:
- Superior writing, communication, project management, and problem solving skills
- Experience using GSuite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Mental health background a bonus
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter, comfort with ambiguity
- Interest in digital health / health and wellness industry
- Mission-driven personality
