Job Description:

The Senior Manager, Strategy & Planning leads, develops and maintains the Fraud Risk Management (FRM) & Global Security & Investigations (GSI) Business & Technology Strategy & Roadmap and related processes & programs. To execute that mandate, the role partners and proactively engages with leaders across FRM & GSI functions, Fraud Operations, Technology, other key strategic partners and control functions.

The Senior Manager, Strategy & Planning is a critical member of the FRM & GSI senior management team and plays a significant role in the successful delivery of FRM & GSI Programs.

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Provides strategy, program & process management, facilitation & coordination
  • Leads FRM's business and technology strategic planning processes and supports business management activities such as Resource Planning, Affiliate Transaction Reporting, Supplier and Contract Management, Premises and Business Continuity Management
  • Develops FRM's Strategic & Technology Plan(s) and tracks/reports on key initiatives
  • Develops the annual strategic priorities and initiatives for the Risk Assessment and Business Management teams
  • Prepares and maintains the annual budget for Risk Assessment and Business Management Teams, and the FRM Project Portfolio
  • Manages FRM's Continuous Improvement Program, which is focused on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and resources
  • Partners with COLA Shared Service groups such as Employee Experience and Business Operations to align on FRM expectations of service levels and monitors ongoing delivery against established action plans
  • Works closely with the FRM & GSI executive team to evolve, manage and communicate the FRM & GSI vision and strategy, proactively monitors emerging internal and external requirements and trends with respect to Fraud Risk Management
  • Sources, develops and nurtures data focused talent for the organization
  • Participates in audit & regulatory reviews as required

Education & Experience:

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years' professional experience in any of the following areas: management consulting, effective strategy design & financial/business planning, governance principles, business acumen, risk management practices, data analysis and reporting
  • Likely a subject matter expert in fraud and risk mitigation/management strategies with experience in the financial services sector.
  • Ability to point to a track record of value creation/risk/exposure mitigation against a strategic roadmap or vision. S/he will drive the development of strategic priorities, working closely with other business & technology partners to do so.
  • Adept at managing positive relationships and presents well across senior stakeholder groups; s/he will similarly be a role model to staff across the FRM & GSI functions
  • Ability to closely monitor tactical execution. S/he will be experienced in and excited about making a difference every day in a highly dynamic and ever-changing environment
  • Confident interacting and presenting to executives & senior management to gain support and trust
  • Demonstrated experience and skill in proactively engaging with a very diverse set of stakeholders to reach clear decisions in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate using a variety of approaches to influence, drive understanding and foster collaboration
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic business & technology plans, art
