**Requires a strong foundation in COBOL mainframe development **The Claims Adjudication System (CAS) team at Humana is essential in delivering core services through effective claims processing and management solutions. This position involves coding software applications based on business requirements and addressing moderately complex to complex issues through in-depth analysis.
Responsibilities
- Code software applications that align with business requirements, ensuring high-quality standards.
- Standardize quality assurance procedures for software, overseeing testing and debugging while developing necessary fixes.
- Research complaints and make adjustments or recommendations to resolve complex software-related issues.
- Begin to influence departmental strategy and make decisions on technical approaches for project components, working independently with considerable latitude.
- Work closely with business leaders to develop innovative solutions that enhance functionality, efficiency, and user satisfaction.
- Design and review software solutions that meet business requirements, ensuring a smooth transition to the development team.
- Conduct quality reviews of software and actively work to improve deliverable quality.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- COBOL coding experience.
- 5 or more years of experience in designing, developing, and testing software applications and/or infrastructure.
- A passion for contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CICS, VSAM, and DB2.
- Agile experience.
- Experience using Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Master's Degree.
