Job Purpose and Overview 

The Regional Manager EHS&S will report directly to the Director of EHS. This position will oversee multiple distribution centers (including delivery drivers) and one manufacturing plant in their assigned region.  This position is accountable for the execution of Dawn’s Safety, Health & Environmental strategy in their assigned region and must be a subject matter expert in one or more of the following key focus areas: Risk Assessments, Powered Industrial Trucks, Ergonomics, Hazcom, Fire Prevention Plans, Combustible Dust, Electrical Safety, DOT (FMCSR), Flammable & Combustible Liquids, Fall Prevention, Machine Guarding, LOTO, Warehouse Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Emergency Response Plans, Management of Change, Contractor Management, Environmental Compliance, and Security. The Regional Manager EHS&S will champion a continuous improvement culture across their assigned region and will work closely with people and business leaders to develop and implement effective proactive action plans to ensure the highest standards in workplace safety and environmental programs/policies.  This position is accountable for ensuring that Dawn enhances safety and environmental programs and performance in their assigned region and consistently leverages best practices. 

 

This is a remote opportunity with up to 75% travel required. 

 

 What You’ll Do as a Regional Manager EHS&S at Dawn Foods?  

  • Responsible for supporting and fostering the safety culture and compliance at Dawn facilities.
  • Responsible for executing strategy and identifying opportunities to improve safety culture at assigned locations.
  • This role has dotted-line reporting relationships and influence over EHS resources that work onsite at our facilities. This role is ultimately responsible for EHS performance in their assigned region while providing support to the Dawn North America EHS function and is expected to leverage influence and relationships to get work done through others without direct authority.
  • Develop and mentor facility team members to improve their effectiveness as safety leaders.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and management of safety, environmental, and security programs, policies, permits, and training to ensure compliance with company policies and government-mandated programs.
  • Conduct site audits, inspections, evaluations, and reviews to ensure safety excellence.
  • Provides technical support and professional expertise to the overall Dawn organization, inclusive of leadership, engineering, plant operations, and distribution operations. 
    • Consult with Engineering, leadership, and team members to identify and resolve potential EHS issues through engineering design changes or other means necessary.
    • Support capital projects as the EHS expert.
  • Ensure that safety records and documentation are maintained by company policies and legal requirements.
  • Responsible for timely submission of environmental reports/permits to US regulatory agencies.
  • Manage and oversee Dawn’s DOT compliance with the shipment of hazardous materials at assigned locations.
  • Lead compliance to applicable NFPA and insurance provider property recommendations (i.e., combustible dust, storage of flammable liquids, and property loss prevention inspections)
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of existing and proposed environmental health and safety Federal and State regulations.
  • Supports EHS investigations and incident reporting including root cause analysis problem-solving, incident prevention, etc.
