The Tube-launched, Optically-tracked, Wireless-guided (TOW) Weapon System program in the Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) strategic business unit; Precision Fires and Maneuvers (PF&M) product area has an immediate opening for a TOW Production Financial Analyst role. The role will provide opportunity to partner with PF&M level directors, production program managers, and all functional partners helping to support successful implementation of critical TOW production programs. The selected candidate will play a key role key role in baselining and implementation of a newly awarded contract; support Program Management Office (PMO) in managing cost, schedule, manpower and material forecasts. They will work closely with the program cost account managers on Quarterly Estimate at Complete (EAC) and R&O management. In addition, the role will be involved in monthly financial planning and updating of detail level forecasts with an emphasis on variance analysis and a focus on process improvements; as well as resource optimization to minimize future variances and drive profitability. Financial accounting responsibilities will also include participation in Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long Range Planning (LRP).
The ideal candidate for this role will be an excellent communicator with a strong desire to learn while being progressively challenged and must excel at multi-tasking, effective and influential communication, innovative problem solving, and must have a firm understanding of financial principles common to the aerospace and defense industry.
This role is being offered in an onsite capacity and is based on the needs of the business. Onsite work will be expected in Tucson, AZ. Relocation assistance is being provided
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Daily management of program cost and schedule; with emphasis on variance analysis and focus on resource optimization to minimize future variances and drive productivity
Partner with CAM/IPT lead in preparation, analysis, review and approval of quarterly EACs and Risk & Opportunity analysis
Interface with Cross functional teams to ensure program financial and contractual commitments are achieved
Preparation and presentation of financial status to Program Management team (weekly, monthly, quarterly, & annually)
Develop, utilize and disseminate process improvement and tool improvement opportunities to enhance analytical opportunities for the entire finance team
Responsible for ad hoc request support in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field of study
Typically requires 5 years prior relevant experience; OR an Advanced degree in a related field and 3 years prior relevant experience
Experience interfacing and conducting business with various functional disciplines (i.e. Contracts, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain)
Experience with variance analysis and/or usage of MS office
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements
Qualifications We Prefer:
Understanding of EAC structure/preparation and Risk and Opportunity Management
Ability to effectively work in a challenging and fast paced environment
Experience with APEX, PRISM, IOTs, Rplan and EDIT+
Understanding of AOP and Long-Range Planning, program forecasting and metrics
Ability to multitask and work on several different projects at anytime
Experience working independently and with higher levels of management
