Job Duties

The Student Health Services Department here at Virginia State University is in search of a Nurse Practitioner/PA. The candidate will provide quality health care and health promotion services to the VSU student body, while utilizing professional nursing assessment skills to serve the health needs of VSU students, focusing on promoting healthy lifestyles through counseling, illness prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Minimum Qualifications

The following knowledge, skills and abilities must be demonstrated and are required to successfully perform the work.

Working knowledge of assessing, diagnosing and treating college age population.

Ability to perform duties within the scope of practice as a Licensed Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Good communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to perform duties in a professional and proficient manner.

The following Education, Experience, Licensure and/or Certification(s) are required and must be demonstrated for entry into the position.

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia

Certified as a Nurse Practitioner with the authority to write prescriptions.

Current certification in either CPR or BLS.

Additional Considerations

Must demonstrate all Minimum Qualifications listed to be considered.
