Supervisor, PDI

JOB SUMMARY: The Pre-Delivery Inspection Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and safety of our pontoon boats before they reach our customers. This leadership position requires a strong commitment to supporting a team responsible for conducting thorough pre-delivery inspections, upholding established standards, and contributing to our dedication to delivering exceptional products with a focus on Quality, Service, and Innovation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Pre-Delivery Inspections:
   • Conduct thorough inspections of pontoon boats before delivery to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
   • Identify and document any defects, damages, or deviations from specifications.
2. Quality Control:
   • Work closely with the production and assembly teams to address and rectify any issues identified during inspections.
   • Implement quality control measures to enhance the overall product quality.
3. Documentation:
   • Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting findings and recommended actions.
   • Maintain accurate records of inspection results and communicate them to relevant departments.
4. Collaboration:
   • Collaborate with other departments, such as production, engineering, and customer service, to address and resolve issues identified during inspections.
   • Provide feedback to improve the manufacturing and assembly processes.
5. Process Improvement:
   • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing enhancements to the pre-delivery inspection process.
   • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve overall efficiency.

1. Safety Compliance:
   • Supports and advocates for a Barletta Safe culture by ensuring that all safety protocols and procedures are followed during the inspection process.
   • Report any safety concerns or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
2. Team Leadership:
   • Provides culture-focused leadership to the PDI team
   • Leads the assessment / evaluation, development, and coaching of PDI associates aligned to Barletta’s Values and Leadership Expectations.
3. Training and Development:
   • Stay informed about industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to pontoon boat manufacturing and inspection.
   • Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in marine mechanics or a related field is a plus.
• Proven experience in pre-delivery inspection, quality control, or a similar role within the marine industry.
• Ability to lead a team and advocate for a great employee experience
• Strong understanding of pontoon boat construction, systems, and components.
• Detail-oriented with excellent observational and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills to convey inspection findings and collaborate with other departments.
