Senior Business Systems Project Manager
We’re looking for a Project Manager to join the Business Systems & IT PMO at Fastly. The objective of the PMO is to identify, prioritize, and successfully execute a portfolio of initiatives and projects that are aligned with Fastly’s strategic goals. The ideal candidate has strong experience delivering IT projects on time, to budget, and to desired quality while also providing assistance, training, and guidance on process tools and templates. An ideal candidate seeks opportunities to establish and implement best practices in a way that encourages collaboration, transparency, and overall improvement to PMO systems and processes. This role reports to the Director, IT Business Systems program Management and will work in our Denver, Los Angeles, New York City, or San Francisco office.
What You'll Do
- Manage and lead the execution of complex, cross-functional projects and initiatives owning all aspects of project planning, tracking, and communications
- Work with team leads to define the project plan, goals, and scope, identify resources, and determine key milestones and dependencies to create the project schedule
- Regularly review project progress and communicate status to stakeholders and the project team in a clear and effective manner
- Proactively handle schedule and scope changes, identify risks, mitigate issues, build contingency plans, and manage escalations
- Provide support and visibility of the overall portfolio to enable informed prioritization of projects, highlight potential risks, identify dependencies, and best utilize resources
- Provide support and leadership for IT business process definition and improvements with stakeholders across Fastly to ensure transparency, inclusiveness, and measurable results
- Proactively contribute to development of PMO objectives and principles to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.
- Support the work of the PMO to strengthen project management practices across Fastly, and improve communication and reporting
Work Hours:
- This position will require you to be available during core business hours
What We're Looking For
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years experience managing technical projects in a high-tech, high-growth environment
- Knowledge and ability to strategically use a range of standard project management concepts, methodologies, and best practices
- Experience defining and optimizing business processes, including adapting processes to fit specific organizational context and culture
- Independent and self-motivated, with the pragmatism and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem solving, facilitation, and consultancy skills
- Exceptional communicator, strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Demonstrable experience of driving change and improving collaboration
- PMP certification is desired
Work Location(s) & Travel Requirements
This position is based out of Fastly’s New York City office. Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.
This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.
Salary
The estimated salary range for this position is $122,280 to $179,820.
Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
