Program Description:
The Development Team works with donors, prospects, Foundation and Corporate funders, and government officials to raise unrestricted and restricted funding in support of Graham’s mission.
The Development Team focuses on linking mission to action by attaining funding. Relationship building, superior communications, and deep collaboration are characteristics of the Team and how it effects change internally and externally as key connection agents for Graham.
Position Overview:
The Director, Institutional Giving, is a full-time position responsible for philanthropic support through Foundation grants, corporate giving, and government grants and allocations. The Director, Institutional Giving is responsible for preparing foundation, corporate, and government grants and reports. The Director, Institutional Giving, will gather information from various departments and work with the Development team to develop a strategic plan for foundation giving, leads government RFP responses, and manages consultant grant writer relationships. In collaboration with staff, strategizes and helps develop planning, implementation, and evaluation to inform proposals and reports. as well as carry a grants prospect portfolio, the number and level of which to be mutually agreed upon. The Director reports to the Chief Development Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Work within the Development team to develop a strategic plan for foundation, corporate, and government support.
- Manage the successful work and goal attainment of the Development Writers (2), and contracted grant writers, providing guidance and support.
- Lead the preparation and writing of government proposals in response to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and discretionary opportunities.
- Write foundation and other proposals and reports in a style that is consistent with other Graham materials.
- Contract with and oversee consultants in the writing, editing, and timely submission of grant proposals.
- Liaise with advocacy experts and internal advocacy leaders for coordination and acceleration of funding applications and efforts
- Coordinate with multiple departments (e.g., fiscal, evaluation) to gather necessary data for proposals and reports.
