01 Manager/Chief of Hospital Security

1.

Assists the Director of Safety & Security in the preparation of all operational and capital budgets for the department.

2.

Ensures enforcement of department policies and procedures; oversees day-to-day operations of all Brunswick/Camden based police, security, and scheduling practices.

3.

Oversees day-to-day shift activities to ensure secure and safe conditions.

4.

Reviews all officer reports in a timely manner for content, accuracy, and thoroughness. Works with PSOs and Security Officers to improve writing skills; approves all incident/variance reports submitted by Safety & Security staff, and effectively communicates required information to the Director and others.

5.

Responsible for meeting all required documentation by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Council, including mandatory training and investigative information; assures required International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) training is provided to all staff and that the required equipment is available and maintained.

6.

Oversees the criminal background check process, properly managing the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) and Criminal Justice Information Services-FBI (CJIS) systems.  Manages access to these systems for other authorized and trained staff.

7.

Effectively plans and conducts special department and required business meetings.

8.

After assuming all above responsibilities, the second phase of the position will encompass all other day-to-day security and police department operations including but not limited to: 

·         Management of the CCTV system/burglar alarm systems/electronic access control system

·         Fire Extinguisher Inspections

·         Parking control

·         Lost & found

Two-way radio operation

9.

Effectively plans and conducts special department and required business meetings.

10.

 Complete all Scheduling and approve all PTO requests in a timely manner.

11.

Audit all timecards for accuracy and require justification for all discrepancies (break violations, early start, late start, etc.)
