Primary Objective:

Performs general maintenance, service, and repairs to equipment and machinery including facilities.

 

Major Function and Scope:

• Maintain and/or repair BCF equipment including faceplate components and winders along with all assigned support equipment as necessary. Focusing primarily on 1st floor positional uptime, parts replacement/ repair, and general cleaning of machinery.

• Clean and maintain the facility including areas assigned outside.

• Work safely obeying all plant rules and procedures

• Maintain a clean and orderly workplace for your assigned areas

• Assist with pack changes on 3rd floor

• Rebuild serviceable parts including jets, valves, guides, drums, rollers, pneumatic cylinders, aspirators, and any other parts that can be rebuilt directly or indirectly related to production.

• Assist other mechanics in completing project work or repair of more compressive equipment

• Any other task deemed necessary by the management team

Type of Knowledge and Experience:

 • High school graduate or GED equivalency required.

• Experience performing job specific general maintenance duties that includes experience in maintenance of mechanical and low voltage electrical equipment.

• Basic working knowledge of applicable building electrical, plumbing, HVAC system, boilers, generators, etc. and proficient using all applicable tools and equipment.

• Experience operating a forklift may be required.

• Possess a technical aptitude to read and understand technical documents and instructions such as blue prints, manufacturing and installation instruction sheets, etc.

• Reads and writes in standard English and proficient performing basic math calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, including fractions and decimals.

• Ability to operate and perform preventative maintenance on assigned department equipment, machinery, tools, etc.

• Successful completion of all required on the job training.

• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.

• May be required to use PC and other department specific database systems

Competencies:

.Ability to understand and follow verbal or written instructions and to keep simple records and make routine reports. Ability to work evenings and weekends and to be reached by phone, 7days/week, 24 hours/day. Ability to maintain an acceptable level of attendance in accordance with company and department guidelines. Ability to work well with people. Ability to perform specific duties with instructions but without direct supervision. Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license.
