Job Summary
This part-time House Manager is gender responsive, serving male identifying residents. The House Manager will work collaboratively with BTC staff and community partners to ensure a safe and healthy living environment for the residents, while residing in the home.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Maintains a healthy, alcohol/drug free environment in the residence.
- Works collaboratively with BTC staff and community partners to ensure a safe and healthy living environment for the residents.
- Administers random, observed, gender-specific UAs, as needed.
- Establishes a positive relationship with residents, with mutual trust and respect
- Identifies and solves problems through effective communication and creative solutions.
- Observes and reports notable behavior and events to residents’ mentor and/or a supervisor.
- Conducts weekly house meetings to build community and facilitate problem solving.
- Facilitates maintenance of property and grounds, including but not limited to, posting household chore rotations and contacting maintenance for repairs.
- Attends monthly staff meeting and orders appropriate house supplies.
- Collects rent and maintains records, where applicable
- Regularly sleeps at the residence and report curfew violations of the residents. More than 4 nights away from the residence within a month must be approved by a supervisor, and all time away from the residence requires a coverage plan.
- Abides by organization policies and procedures, confidentiality laws, professional boundaries and relevant federal/state housing regulations and standards.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The following are the minimum levels required to successfully perform the Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities.
- State ORCHARDS BCU background check clearance, required
- Minimum 1 year of continuous sobriety, required and maintained
- Verifiable program of recovery
- Experience working with individuals in recovery
- Experience maintaining clear boundaries and ability to hold others accountable with compassion.
- Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation
- Demonstrated success at working effectively in a diverse, collaborative team environment, with skills in promoting inclusion and cultural responsiveness
- Experience in collaborating with community partners to identify shortcomings in the organization and in building partnerships to improve outcomes
- Excellent communication, trauma informed approach and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to maintain high professional standards at all times with participant, staff, and community partners
Working Conditions
Environment and Physical Requirements: The House Manager works in a residential environment, living onsite with various residents. The location is subject to a variety of environmental weather conditions including rain, snow, wind, and dust. The position interacts constantly with staff, visitors, program participants, government agencies, and others. The position stands, walks, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. The incumbent must be able to lift, push, pull and move files and equipment in excess of 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a part-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Sunday, approximately 30 hours per month. The House Manager is required to work evening, weekends and/or holidays as job duties demand.
