Particle Physics Research Assistant

 

Job Description: Participate in particle physics research with a focus on searching for evidence of new physics in data collected by the ATLAS Experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. The work entails programming to analyze data, including but not limited to implementing machine learning techniques.

 

Required qualification: Successful completion of Calculus-based General Physics (PHYS 2250 and PHYS 2260) or the equivalent thereof. Experience with C++ and/or Python programming languages.

 

Wage/Salary: $17.86
Hours per Week: 5-10

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
• Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
•Successful completion of calculus based general physics (PHYS 2250 and PHYS 2260) or the equivalent thereof.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•Experience with C++ and/or Python programming languages.
