STATUS: Full time / Exempt
LOCATION: Chicago, IL (Hybrid: 2 days/week on-site, 3 days/week remote)

The National Council States Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is an independent, not-for-profit organization through which nursing regulatory bodies act and counsel together on matters of common interest and concern affecting public health, safety and welfare, including the development of nursing licensure examinations. Our mission empowers and supports nursing regulators in their mandate to protect the public.
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a talented licensure/test development professional to join our Examinations team. The ideal candidate will bring value to the team by assisting in the test development process for all NCSBN examinations.
Reporting to the Test Development Manager, the Test Development Associate I will assist in test development related services for the Exams department by assisting in all aspects of preparation for exams publication and contributing to various department projects and research.
This role is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a few years of test development experience who is looking to expand their test development skill sets, while working for an organization committed to advancing nursing regulation and policy worldwide!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in various test development processes as assigned (item inventory, gap analysis, production schedule, etc.). Assists in item translation projects, performs test development quality checks and identifies process improvements.
- Recruits volunteers for item development panels and keeps database current and accurate. Facilitates item development panels. Facilitates and provides support for all aspects of item development sessions/panels as assigned.
- Provides test development support for various department reports, documents and publications (test plans, practice analyses, etc.). Develops and maintains department documents, filing structures, content management system upkeep, other databases and reports, and spreadsheets on a consistent basis.
- Coordinates Exams Department reference management, including Exams library resource list and references in content management system.
- Provides support for special assignments and innovative research projects related to test development.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 3 years of licensure/certification test development experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and have demonstrated ability to present material to and facilitate various groups.
- Computer Skills:
- Windows-general; E-mail-general including attachments and hyperlinks; Excel-intermediate/advanced; PowerPoint-intermediate/advanced; Word-intermediate/advanced; database familiarity.
