About the role
We are looking for a thoughtful, collaborative Senior Healthcare Data Analyst to join our growing, distributed team at Coforma.
Our Senior Healthcare Data Analysts enjoy diving deep into data and processes and tackling complex problems while working with other cross-disciplinary digital services team members to shape and deliver elegant products across a modern technology stack. They enjoy diving deep into data and processes supporting healthcare delivery and are skilled experts in accessing, understanding, analyzing, and documenting data — often with code — and offering subject matter expertise to the team.
At Coforma, data analysts work closely with researchers and designers to translate laws, regulations, policies, and the needs of our users and partners into tangible information that enables the team to create products and services that address needs and solve problems. In this role, you will evaluate the quality and quantity of data available for crafting valuable and responsible data-driven products, including those utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).

$147,290 to $165,830 Annual Salary + Benefits + Growth PotentialPlacement within this range will be based on the competency level of the candidate. An offer will be made at one of the following tiers:
Tier 1: $147,290 — Meets minimum qualification/experience requirements. Beyond onboarding, will need additional guidance and training to perform key responsibilities of the role.Tier 2: $156,560 — Experienced and fully-competent. Beyond onboarding, can independently perform key responsibilities of the role.Tier 3: $165,830 — Highly-experienced and can perform all responsibilities of the role at a higher level than expected once onboarding is completed.
To honor our company-wide equitable pay system, the posted salary range and corresponding tier salaries are non-negotiable.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
- Write and refine queries, scripts, and procedures to extract data
- Perform complex data analysis on structured and unstructured healthcare data; develop deep, data-informed understanding of user problems to support product development
- Evaluate datasets to advise on whether data is relevant and appropriate for AI/ML solutions: examine the overall data quality, understand the methodology used to collect and maintain the data, and identify and document any limitations
- Support data scientists in validating AI/ML solutions and establishing clear metrics to monitor and assess model performance and fairness
- Write and review data analysis code, ensuring high standards of quality, accuracy, and maintainability
- Solve problems across the tech stack alongside other engineers, building new systems and improving existing ones
- Mentor junior data analysts on data and programming best practices
- Consistently apply best practices with a focus on reproducibility and maintainability
- Collaborate with team members and government/client stakeholders to craft creative solutions and build technology products that improve the communities we serve
- Engage with coworkers across disciplines according to Agile and Scrum methodologies, including participating in planning, breaking down requirements into tasks, refinement and estimation, etc.
