Global Manager - Automation and Innovation

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a dynamic and seasoned professional to join our Global Contract Logistics team as a Global Automation & Innovation Manager. This role is pivotal in identifying, designing, and implementing end-to-end automation solutions, with a strong focus on data analytics, warehouse optimization, and emerging technologies. While primarily focused on the U.S. market, the role may extend to global initiatives for multinational clients. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and self-starter with deep technical expertise, stakeholder management skills, and a passion for innovation.

Key accountabilities:

• Identify opportunities for automation across logistics operations and develop tailored solutions aligned with business and customer needs.
• Lead the design and execution of automation projects, including proof-of-concept pilots and full-scale implementations.
• Create detailed technical specifications and 3D sketches using CAD tools.
• Analyze operational data using Tableau, Power BI, and SQL to define design criteria, optimize layouts, and ensure financial viability.
• Evaluate RFQ data to determine key drivers for selecting automation and mechanization technologies.
• Develop and maintain analytical tools to transform raw data into actionable insights for solution design.
• Validate and compare warehouse design concepts from vendors to select optimal automation/robotics systems.
• Support site renewals by assessing performance metrics and proposing cost-effective enhancements.
• Collaborate with vendors to assess and integrate new technologies aligned with strategic goals.
• Provide training and support to internal teams and clients on automation capabilities and best practices.
• Present and defend business cases to internal and external stakeholders.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, proactively identifying problems and driving solutions.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial or mechanical engineering; master’s preferred. 
• 7+ years of experience in fulfillment engineering, logistics automation, or business process engineering.
• Expertise in end-to-end automation solutions and industrial/mechanical engineering principles. 
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and familiarity with WMS platforms. 
• Strong background in solution design, cost modeling, and logistics optimization. 
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and project management skills. 
• Experience managing stakeholders across cultures and time zones.
