Position Summary
Thales requires a Logistics Manager who will be responsible for the planning and coordination of all aspects of daily logistical operations, from load forecast to shipping operation. As a Logistics Manager, you will also be responsible for the supply of materials and production planning, to meet the needs of production within the client requests, the company's quality standards, current legislation and the lowest cost.
Key Areas of Responsibility
MANAGMENT
Leads the logistic team (Planning, Warehouse and Shipping) in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Define and follow up department objectives, team performance appraisal and team routine performance.
Ensure all flows of information and logistics, from the most basic raw material, through the process of production and distribution, to reach the final consumer, trying to reduce operational cycle times, reduced costs, ensuring delivery dates and improving manufacturability and ensuring quality in services.
Support on Budgeting process and maintain cost/expenses follow up.
Plans, manages, and coordinates all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of necessary materials and supplies needed to meet the changing levels of product demand.
Member of the operations staff, responsible to routinely report on department KPIs along with appropriate analysis and countermeasures where necessary.
PLANNING PROD/MAT
Manage, maintain and follow Production Capacity plan with proper load balance per production line.
Follow up with Sales Operation/Customer Service on forecast accuracy and ensure effective demand planning to guarantee and anticipate load needs.
Guarantee and execute the job creations for the shop floor in proper timing and with accurate information.
Ensure accurate transactions into systems to guarantee the stock accuracy.
Works with plant, warehouse, and logistics departments to determine and set up intercompany transfers.
WAREHOUSING
Manage a proper inventory control, inventory accuracy, warehouse organization, identification and cleanness in the storages areas.
Carry out inventory counts at regular intervals to ensure inventory reconciliation.
Plan or implement material flow process and systems to meet production requirements. Optimize inventory management between local and offsite storage. Minimize transportation and storage expenses.
SHIPMENT
Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.
Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.
Strong knowledge about International shipping (Harmonized codes, invoice requirements, vendor capability and record retention requirements).
Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, or performance evaluation.
Collaborates with procurement department to determine best practice for freight in and freight consolidation.
OTHER
Support in definitions for manufacturing of new products to make sure they meet requirements.
Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes.
Conduct or review environmental audits for logistics activities, such as storage, distribution, or transportation.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 3 years prior experience in a Logistic Management role.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Visio, Word, Power Point, and Outlook.
Demonstrated ERP systems knowledge preferable Oracle system.
