ULTRASOUND TECHNICIAN RD OB CRD VAS

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

 

The registered Ultrasound Technologist performs various modalities of cardiac ultrasound, including Transthoracic echo, stress (exercise and pharmacological) echo, including Echo with contrast; assistance in transesophageal echo and assistance in echo guided invasive procedures. Responsibilities include preparation of preliminary findings reports, study transmittal and Perform Bedside Echoes and coverage of various outpatient satellite sites. As needed, suggest/perform additional pertinent studies based on findings of initial examination or patient presentations, will provide initial preliminary interpretation, independently performs vascular studies and use the following Plethysmographic devices: Parks flow, Unetixs Multilab series II (with HP DeskJet color printer). Phillips IU 22, Phillips iE 33, Epiq, GE Logic 9E and Zonare Color Doppler ultrasound machines (which include peripheral digital recorder thermal paper B/W and color printers), handheld continuous wave pencil Dopplers.

 

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

 

• High school Diploma required.
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS OR RDCS). 
• Must be BLS certified.
• Completion of CAAHEP certified cardiovascular sonography program preferred.
