Position Summary:

The Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University, internationally recognized as a leader in the advancement of Caring Science research, is offering postdoctoral fellowships in advanced statistical analyses and science and data science in the areas of: healthy aging across the lifespan, holistic health, health equity, and transforming nursing practice environments. Job Description: 

This postdoc fellow position will be a one-year assignment, but may be renewed an additional year if performance expectations and deliverables are met. The primary research focus will be on data analysis, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence and Holistic Health areas in Nursing.

Along with an interdisciplinary research team, and while under the direct supervision of Dr. David Newman, Dr. Howard Butcher and Dr. Safiya George, postdoctoral fellows will conduct research focused on data science, caring science, cognition, mental health, health related quality of life and other health-related areas. This postdoctoral fellowship will also assist with research project management and oversight, data analysis, proposal development, dissemination and manuscript preparation. 

Responsibilities:

This fellow will collaborate with faculty, staff, other postdocs, and students to develop and test statistical methodologies related to the use of real-world data (e.g. electronic health records as well as those collected by sensors or other technologies) to better analyze patterns that emerge in health science and nursing research. Fellows will be expected to publish and present their work in leading journals and conferences, participate in college seminars, and meet regularly with the research faculty and teams. There are also opportunities to mentor junior team members and provide educational support. The ideal candidate will have a strong statistical and computational background, experience processing and analyzing large datasets, and outstanding communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

-PhD in Nursing, Experimental Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science Engineering or Artificial Intelligence Engineering.

-All applicants required to have data analysis skills and experience using statistical and data analysis programs like SPSS, STATA, SAS or R, Python and Jupiter Notebook.

Salary:

$60,000 - $75,000 per year.
