Data Governance Lead Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Lead Analyst to lead enterprise Data Governance programs across complex, multi-domain client environments. This role is highly client-facing and combines governance strategy, operating model design, platform implementation, and emerging AI and Agentic AI-driven governance capabilities.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in metadata management, data quality, lineage, stewardship, and governance operating models, along with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and guide cross-functional delivery teams. This role plays a critical part in enabling AI-ready, compliant, and trusted data ecosystems across industries such as Insurance, Healthcare, Banking, Retail, and Professional Services.

1. Governance Strategy & Client Engagement
   1. Lead discovery and assessment of existing Data Governance operating models, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.
   2. Act as a trusted advisor to business, technology, compliance, and data leadership stakeholders.
   3. Facilitate governance workshops, working sessions, and steering committee meetings.
   4. Develop and present Data Governance business cases, including value realization, risk reduction, and regulatory alignment.
   5. Support presales activities, including solution design, proposals, and client demos.
2. Data Governance Implementation & Enablement
   1. Lead end-to-end implementation of Data Governance, Metadata, Lineage, and Data Quality capabilities.
   2. Design and operationalize Operating Data Models for Governance, Quality, and MDM.
   3. Oversee configuration and rollout of governance platforms such as Collibra, Informatica EDC/Axon, Alation, Attacama, and Erwin.
   4. Define governance standards, policies, stewardship workflows, and operating procedures.
   5. Guide testing, validation, and production readiness of governance solutions.
3. AI & Agentic AI Governance Enablement
   1. Embed governance controls to support AI and analytics pipelines, including traceability, explainability, and auditability.
   2. Enable AI-assisted metadata enrichment, classification, and intelligent lineage discovery.
   3. Collaborate with AI, Data Science, and Engineering teams to integrate governance into Agentic AI workflows (e.g., policy-as-code, automated stewardship, governance agents).
   4. Support governance requirements for AI/ML use cases, including bias monitoring and data quality controls.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
   1. Partner with Data Engineering, Architecture, Quality, Analytics, and Security teams to ensure aligned governance outcomes.
   2. Coordinate closely with onshore and offshore delivery teams to ensure consistency and quality.
   3. Work with industry and regulatory teams to tailor governance solutions to domain needs.
5. Practice Development & Leadership
   1. Contribute to the evolution of the Data Governance practice, including accelerators, templates, and best practices.
   2. Mentor and coach junior analysts and leads across engagements.
   3. Stay current on emerging governance, AI, and regulatory trends and recommend continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8–12 plus years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Quality roles.
• Proven experience leading client-facing governance programs.
• Consulting or professional services background preferred.
• Willingness to travel for client engagements.

• Strong experience in Data Governance operating model design and implementation.
• Hands-on experience with governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica EDC/Axon, Alation, Erwin, Attacama.
• Expertise in metadata management, business glossary, lineage, stewardship, and data quality.
• Experience with data exploration and analysis using SQL/MySQL.
• Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Experience leading small to mid-sized teams in complex client environments.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience supporting AI and Agen
