RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the trusted advisor to executive leadership, aligning enterprise architecture strategy with organizational mission, vision, and strategic goals.
  • Develop, produce, and maintain a comprehensive enterprise architecture vision, principles, and organizational standards.
  • Maintain current and target inventories of major organizational assets and features, referred to as the “operating model.”
  • Track interrelationships between enterprise assets and support the mapping of the current-to-future state via a "transition plan" or modernization roadmap.
  • Direct, supervise, and mentor enterprise architects and associated personnel across architecture-related activities.
  • Maintain a centralized repository of enterprise architecture documentation, including models, standards, roadmaps, and inventories.
  • Lead enterprise-wide architecture governance and maturity management initiatives.
  • Analyze transformational investments, business plans, and portfolio strategies for architectural alignment and recommend improvements as necessary.
  • Participate in business and technical segment architecture development, including solution architecture as required.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in frameworks and modeling tools such as DoDAF and SysML.
  • Apply deep knowledge in one or more of the following: business process modeling, data architecture, application/software architecture, infrastructure, security architecture, or ontology development.
  • Contribute to the development of service taxonomies and semantic web technologies (e.g., OWL) to enhance organizational understanding and interoperability.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • Extensive experience (15+ years) in enterprise architecture roles with a focus on strategy alignment, governance, and architecture development across business and technical domains.
  • Broad understanding of enterprise architecture history, evolution, theory, and frameworks.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with architecture modeling tools, industry standards, and relevant technical domains (e.g., DoDAF, SysML).
  • Deep knowledge in at least one area such as business, data, application, infrastructure, security, or ontology-based architectures, with working knowledge of the others.

Certifications:

  • Not required, though familiarity with architecture frameworks and modeling languages is expected.

Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Enterprise Architecture or related field, or multiple certifications in enterprise architecture.
  • An MBA with a technical degree may substitute for the master's degree requirement.

Clearance:

  • Must possess an active Secret clearance at time of application.
