About the role

Under direction of the Vice President, Development, works with staff and volunteers where appropriate to initiate current major and planned gifts in support of campaigns and other identified fundraising priorities of Saint John's Health Center.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

  • Identifies and pursues major funding prospects for campaigns and other funding priorities to further the mission of St. Joseph Hospital and to meet the Foundation's fundraising goals.
  • Establish, build and strengthen relationships between current and potential major gift donors, the foundation and hospital.
  • Manage campaign, major gift cultivation, recognition and solicitation meetings and events as assigned.
  • Manage appropriate major gift and campaign volunteer & professional leadership as assigned.
  • Take on additional areas of responsibility as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field; or equivalent educ/experience
  • Participation in courses on Fund Development
  • Master's Degree in related field (preferred)
  • Upon hire: Fundraising Certification (CFRE or CSPG) (preferred)
  • 8 years of experience in the field of fund development, including major gift fund raising, campaigns and gift planning
  • 5 years of progressive experience in managing and directing fund development programs
  • Knowledge of the field of fund development, including major gift fund raising, campaigns and gift planning
  • Advanced interpersonal skills necessary in order to deal effectively and persuasively with a variety of influential internal and external contacts when eliciting cooperation and support for the hospital.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills required to lead volunteers, hospital and foundation staff and physicians.
  • Advanced analytical skills necessary in order to determine effective fund development strategies, identify potential sources of contributions and develop short- and long-term development goals and objectives for the hospital.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written are essential.
  • Teamwork and delegation skills.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
